Born in Dickson, William was a son of the late Charles and Ita Alice Jones Booker. He was a graduate of the 1969 class of Dickson High School. He was drafted into military service in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. William worked as an electrician and was a member of the Church of Christ. In his earlier years, he loved to participate in drag racing. Always an outdoorsman, William loved to fish and squirrel hunt. He always had a heart for animals, especially his canine companions “Maggie” and “LouLou.” He loved and appreciated his wife of more than 49 years, Cathy Moon Booker. He was so very proud of “his girls” and his grandchildren. William and Cathy spent many hours listening to music of the seventies as they traveled the Natchez Trace Parkway.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Booker and by a sister, Sandra Cathey.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Booker of Dickson; two daughters, Denise Laster (Jami) of McEwen, TN and Audra Booker of Clarksville, TN; his grandchildren, Daniel Laster, Drew Laster, and Brooke Laster; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
