Graveside services, with Military Honors, will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 11AM at the Ever Rest Cemetery, in Pleasant View, TN. Visitation will be held at Taylor Funeral Home on Friday morning, from 9AM to 10AM.

For those desiring, memorials may be made to DAV (Disabled American Veterans) or Cheatham County Animal Control.

Donald Eugene McCormick, Sr., age 73, of Chapmansboro, TN, passed away on April 21, 2026.

Donald was born in Nashville, TN on June 20, 1952, to the late Clyde McCormick and Mary Elizabeth Joyce McCormick. Donald served in the United States Army and the TN Army National Guard, earning the National Defense Service Medal.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Elaine Spain McCormick, and his brother, Jack McCormick.

He is survived by his son, Donny McCormick (Windy), daughter, Wendy Thomason, his brother, Billy McCormick (Lisa), his sisters, Kathy McCormick, Sherry McCormick Hymer, Brenda Williams, Joyce Ford, grandchildren, Bailey McCormick (Brenna “Brea”), Allison McCormick, Emily McCormick, Brandi Laney, Brittany Laney, Brooke Edsall, numerous nieces and nephews, and his four-legged companion, Maverick.

  3. We had good and bad times. But for the last few years they were good. We had holiday meals with Donny and his .family. Tell my Mon and Daddy hi. You will be misses.

  4. Donald was my first room mate in Schwabach Germany. we worked in the maintenance section. He was a SPC 4 and I was a PFC. He left Germany and has always remained a friend. I will share this to some of his friends that I am in contact with. until we meet again at the Ole Canteen at Fiddlers Green my friend.

  5. Mac was a good friend who always had a smile for you. I will never forget him rest in peace Mac I’ll see you later.

  6. I was station with Mac in Germany 1/1 CAV B Troop . He was a good friend . We both worked in the motor pool . We also took taekwondo lessons together. He would come and visit me at my house and of course we had a couple run and cokes and listen to music.
