Rick Whitney of Dickson died April 26, 2026 at home. He was 64.
Born in Lansdale, PA to Robert & Oletha (Drumm) Whitney, he grew up in Lambertville,
NJ. He graduated from South Hunterdon Regional High School and was a Receiving
Manager at K&S Associates in Nashville. Rick was an avid music lover and guitarist.
Rick and his wife, Phyllis, moved to Dickson, TN in 1999. He worked as a chef at New Life
Lodge in Dickson and then Receiving Manager at K&S Associates in Nashville, TN for
more than 24 years.
Due to his love of animals, he was an active volunteer with Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue
in Burns, TN.
Rick was predeceased by his parents and twin brother and sister. He is survived by his
beloved wife Phyllis, brother Robert Whitney, Jr, sisters Beverly Gilen and Sharon (Chae)
Donohue, several nieces and nephews and treasured “foster failure” pets Gizmo and Billy.
