Paul Talmadge Dennison, age 82 of Burns, TN – formerly of Newbern, TN – passed from this life on June 7, 2026, at his home, surrounded by family. A funeral service will take place on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 12 noon from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Miller officiating. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. There will also be a visitation on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Newbern, with a graveside service to follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Fairview Cemetery – Newbern, TN with Jerry Kinsey officiating.
Paul was born on July 3, 1943, in Newbern, TN, to the late James Presley Dennison and Annie Lou Pledge Dennison. He was devoted to his wife, Susie Gaines Dennison, throughout nearly 57 years of marriage. He worked for many years as an auditor with the Tax Division for the State of TN and he was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Dickson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Jerry Dennison, David Dennison, Janet Keedy, and Carolyn Gregory.
Survivors include his wife: Susie Dennison of Burns; his children: Paula Stuart (Greg) and Leslie Hanson, both of Nashville, Bob Dennison (Stephanie) of Dyersburg, and Scott Dennison (Jennifer) of Paducah, KY; his siblings: Jimmy Dennison, Mary Milam, Faye Seboly, Kay Miller, Polly Dennison, Patsy Whitworth, and Wanda Mott; also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Dickson Odds and Ends Class Benevolent Fund.
