Nellie May Buttrey Proctor, age 87, of Dickson, TN, passed away surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and unwavering love.
Nellie was the beloved wife of Toby for 63 wonderful years, a devoted mother to Tonya and Tim, and a cherished grandmother to Shaun and Nathanael. Her greatest joy was her family, and she treasured every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.
Above all, Nellie was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Her faith was not merely something she professed—it was evident in the way she lived each day. Through her compassion, humility, generosity, and steadfast love, she reflected Christ in both word and deed. She was a faithful member of Parker’s Creek Baptist Church for many decades, where she worshipped, served, and formed lasting friendships rooted in her faith.
Nellie found great joy in helping others, always willing to lend a hand, offer encouragement, or simply be present for someone in need. Her gentle spirit, caring heart, and selfless nature touched the lives of many. Whether surrounded by family or serving those around her, she lived with grace, purpose, and love.
She will be remembered for the faith she lived, the love she freely gave, and the lasting example she leaves for her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she will be deeply missed, her loved ones find comfort in God’s promise of eternal life and rejoice in knowing she is now in the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Linden “Toby” Proctor in 2020.
Survivors include her son, Timothy L. Proctor, her daughter, Tonya L. Proctor, her grandsons, Shawn Proctor, Nathaniel Proctor (Kimberly), great-grandchildren, Cole, Gage, McKenzie, Wyatt, several nieces and nephews.
