William “Billy” Alfred Swaw Jr.

Memorial services will be held at 1PM on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church. Pastor Jason Betts will officiate. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10am until the time of service.

William “Billy” Alfred Swaw Jr., age 84, of Dickson, TN, passed away August 4, 2026, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN.

Billy was born in Dickson, TN on June 8, 1942, to the late William Afred Swaw Sr. and Margaret Cathy Swaw.

Billy loved the Lord and was an active member of Calvary Baptist until he was no longer able to attend. He and Mary instilled that love into his family. Family meant everything to Billy. He loved to hunt, fish, camp, bike, and hike. He worked at The Water Authority of Dickson County until he retired in 2011, and he then began his own business of contracting for them up until a couple of years ago.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shawna Swaw and grandson, Devin Stringfield, his parents William Swaw Sr., Margaret Cathy Swaw, four brothers, Neil, Terry, Robert and Ronnie Swaw and four sisters, Wanda Wiggins, Peggy Spann, Rose Swaw and Carol Swaw.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Edwards Swaw of 65 years, five children, Genine (Larry) Cook, Karene (Jimmy) Dunn, Chris (Reba) Swaw, Mark (Terri) Swaw, and Samantha (Carlton) Kimbro, two sisters, Betty (Norman) Edwards and Kathy (Richard) Goosetree, fourteen grandchildren, Jason, Alisha, Tabby, Kellie, Bruce, Lauren, Drake, Aaron, Levi, Sarah, Caleb, Isaiah, Elijah, Nehemiah, seventeen great grandchildren, Ella, Kimber, Colt, Tayla, Bentley, Zek, Gavin, Trey, Noley, Dutton, Demi, Gracie, Alli, Easton, Connor, Willow, Jacob, one great great grandchild Amara and two bonus grandchildren Alivia and Sam.
