Sherri Lynn Estes passed away peacefully with her loving family all around her at Saint Thomas Hospital West, after an extended complicated illness.
Sherri was born on August 10th, 1968, to the late Bobby Wayne Ingram, and his wife, Sue Ingram. Sherri projected an immense nurturing nature around her, extending not only to her family and friends, but to strangers as well, and to animals and plants also. She took great pleasure in many activities; including cooking, spending time with and caring for her four-legged family, tending to her flowers and plants, listening to music, and numerous artistic activities such as drawing, coloring, and clothing design.
Family and friends will remember Sherri working at Tennessee Quality Foods (the local Tennessee Pride production plant), being a teacher’s assistant for many years at Dickson Elementary School, as well as working in the children’s daycare center at Walnut Street Church of Christ. Sherri loved children and she loved helping them to learn, grow, and experience the world in a positive way.
Sherri married the love of her life, Robert Timothy Estes, in an intimate ceremony amongst family and friends on April 20th, 1991. Their first child, daughter Haley Amanda, was born in late 1992. They next welcomed their son, Colin Lowell, into the family in late 2002.
Sherri’s contributions to the world were immeasurable, and we hope to carry forth her legacy of love and kindness to honor her.
Sherri is survived by her husband, Robert; their two children, Haley and Colin; her mother, Sue Ingram; and her brother and his wife, Tim and Angela Ingram.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Ingram; her maternal grandparents, Ray and Alice Donegan; and her paternal grandparents, Jesse and Jane Ingram.
In accordance with Sherri’s wishes, a cremation will be performed. Also, a Celebration of Life and Love will be held in Sherri’s remembrance at a forthcoming date; where those who knew Sherri may attend, to enjoy good food, share fond memories of her, and exchange photographs.
