Mrs. Mollie Tidwell Hicks, age 70, of Dickson, died Friday, August 26th at Centennial Medical Center. A native of Hickman County, Mollie was the daughter of the late William and Eula Tidwell. She worked as a cook at the former East Hills Restaurant in Dickson and she was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Orville Shannon Hicks, Dickson; a son, Michael Wayne Bishop (and Pamela), Vanleer; a daughter, Cynthia Dawn Watkins (and Paul), Charlotte; five step-children, Shannon Hicks (and Heidi), Grand Marais, MN, Jan Golden (and Richard), Chicago, IL, James Robert Hicks (and Gayle), Chicago, IL, Eric Hicks (and Julie), Charlotte, and Richard Hicks, Dickson; a sister, Thelma Franklin, Dickson; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Mollie Tidwell Hicks was held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2011 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Franklin officiating. Interment followed in the Hicks Family Cemetery.
