Mr. Freeman Dwane ‘F. D.’ Bennett, age 89 of Dickson, Tennessee died Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the Alive Hospice at St. Thomas. Mr. Bennett was a teacher in Charlotte and was principal of Charlotte High School for 21 years. Later, he worked as Educational Supervisor of Instruction for the Dickson County School System. Funeral services for Mr. F. D. Bennett were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 26th from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Cullom officiating. Interment followed in the Dickson Union Cemetery. For those desiring, memorials may be made to the F. D. and Doris Bennett Scholarship Fund. Survivors include his wife, Doris Patey Bennett, Dickson; one son, Judge Andy Bennett and his wife, Sidney, Hermitage, TN; one daughter, Dr. Betsy D. Bennett, Mobile, AL; one brother, Walter Bennett, Dresden, TN; one sister, Mrs. L. M. Smith, Fulton, KY; one grandson, Adam Bennett; several nieces and nephews.
