Funeral services for Mr. John W. McCord, age 87 of Lyles, TN were conducted Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 at 11 AM from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. David Peeler, Bro. Josh Manning and Rev. Sam Brown officiating. Place of rest is in the Hilltop Cemetery.
Mr. McCord, retired from Thompson and Green where he worked in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment., died at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Born in Wrigley Tennessee, he was the son of the late Calvin Porter McCord and Etta Tidwell McCord. He proudly served his country during World War II in the U. S. Army. He was a member of the Clearview Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 66 yrs, Marie Moss McCord of Lyles, His Son; Tom McCord and his wife, Lois of Dallas, Ga. His Daughter; Debbie McCord Brown and her husband, Sam of Burns, Tn His 6 Grandchildren and his 14 Great Grandchildren, His Brother; Mr. Lloyd McCord of McEwen, Tn His Sister; Mrs. Zora Mai Allen of Lyles, Tn.
