Funeral services for Charles Presley Covington, Jr., age 86 were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor William Miller officiating. Interment followed in Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Mr. Covington died Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Dickson Healthcare Center. A native of Maury County, Tennessee, Charles was the son of the late Charles P., Sr. and Evelyn Hayes Covington. He retired as an electrician (superintendent) for the Nashville Electrical Union #429 and was a member of Dickson Seventh Day Adventist Church. He is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Virginia Abernathy Covington, Dickson; his daughter, Virginia Lynn Covington, Dickson; his son, Charles P. Covington, III and his wife, Kim, Cleveland, TN; one grandson, Charles Covington, IV.
