John Conrad Lemmon, age 79 of Dickson, passed away June 14, 2013 at the Vanderbilt Medical Center after a short illness. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judith, of Dickson, TN; son John Mark Lemmon and his wife, Janet, of Columbus, OH; son Matthew Lemmon of Ashland City, TN; brother, Harry F. Lemmon, of Brownsburg, IN; and beloved dog Sally.

John was born January 23, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Conrad Lemmon and Wilma Yarbrough Lemmon. John worked as a mechanical engineer and has a patent for valve design. He spent his retirement working as a silversmith and participated in many running races and the Senior Olympics while living in Gastonia, North Carolina. John was an avid hiker at Montgomery Bell State Park since moving to Dickson. He was a supporter of and regular donor to the Red Cross Blood Program.

John and Judith were members of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Dickson and recently joined First Baptist Church in Dickson.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 at First Baptist Church from noon until 2 p.m. A memorial service for John is scheduled for Monday at 2 p.m. with Brother Lewis Bratton officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Red Cross Blood Program or to the Dickson County Humane Society.
