Mr. Garey Wayne Wilkes, Sr., age 69 of Burns passed away Saturday August 17, 2013 at Centennial Medical Center. His wishes were to be cremated and the family will have a memorial service at a later date. Arrangements are by the Taylor Funeral Home.
Born in Nashville, he was the son of Grace Conner Wilkes of Old Hickory and the late Walter Alonzo Wilkes. He was a retired Insurance Adjuster for State Farm Insurance and he loved working on Cars and restoring old Hot Rods.
Along with his mother he is also survived by his son, Garey Wilkes, Jr. (Betsy) of Norma, IL; daughters, Stephanie Beasley (Michael) of Antioch, Ashley Hall (Dalton) of Burns; grandchildren, Colton Wilkes and Taylor Beasley; sisters, Gale Ford of Old Hickory, Glenda Atwood of Antioch.
