Wanda Hynes Tidwell, age 78 of Kingston Springs, died on August 20, 2016. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 2pm until 8pm at the Taylor Funeral Home. A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 11am at the Taylor Funeral Home. Place of rest will be in the Downey Cemetery in Hohenwald, TN. Family will gather at the cemetery on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 for a committal service.
Wanda was born May 21, 1938 in New Hope Alabama. She had worked as a secretary for Fisk University of Nashville, TN and the New Life Lodge in Burns, TN. She was the representation of a true lady and embraced her inner beauty through her wardrobe, always looking her best. She attended services at the Church of Christ at Kingston Springs, TN.
Wanda is survived by her husband, Melvin Tidwell of Kingston Springs; step-children, Teresa Hartley of Nashville, William Tidwell of Kingston Springs, and Wefel Tidwell (Sherry) of Kingston Springs; sister, Leatrice Joy Phillips; brother, Donald Haynes (Doris); 4 grandchildren, April Scott (Travis), Brandon Hartley, Justin Hartley, Callianne Tidwell; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Carl Haynes Sr. and Mary M. Rector Haynes; her brother, James Carl Haynes Jr.
