Bertha Mae “Berdie” Jones, age 68 of Dickson, died on May 22, 2017 at the Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville, TN. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 29, 2017 from 12pm until 4pm and on Tuesday from 12pm until the time of service. A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 2pm at the Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Benessa K. Sweat giving the eulogy. Place of rest will be in the East Dickson Cemetery.
Bertha Jones was born May 11, 1949 in Vance, MS. She attended services at the McGavock Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charlotte, TN. Before retirement due to her health, she worked with Developmental Services of Dickson County. “Berdie” had a great sense of humor and she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her 2 sons, Jackie Brandon and Terrance Jones both of Dickson; adopted daughter, Susan McCullom; sister, Annie Mae Paris; brothers, Andrew Bradley and Robert Bradley; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her bird “Tweetie.”
