Dorothy Coreen Clayton, age 81 of Burns, died Monday, December 25, 2017 at her home. She will be cremated and private family services will take place at a later date.
Born in Garland, Arkansas, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Emmit and Lillie Love Burns. She held a Bachelor of Science degree. She was a single, working Mom for several years in the Nuclear Weapons Testing Program in Nevada during the Cold War for the AEC Engergy Commission.
Dorothy retired as an Administrative Assistant from the U. S. Department of Energy. She was married to Glenn Aaron Clayton, who preceded her in death. In 2016 she published her book, “Dying For Answers” about the Veterans of the Cold War.
Survivors include her son, Steve Johnson, Burns, TN; her daughter, Debbie Crawl (Mike), Rhome, TX; sisters, Helen Norwood, Texas, and Betty Schanefish, Arkansas; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
