Funeral services for Jimmy Melton Haskins, age 74 of Lyles, Tennessee will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Wes Sesler officiating. Interment will follow in Gum Springs Cemetery near Slayden. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time of service. Mr. Haskins died unexpectedly on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at his home.
Born in Hickman County, Melton was the son of the late Gabe Melton and Dorothy Tennessee Tyler Haskins. He was an auto mechanic by trade and his services were in high demand from a faithful following of friends and relatives. His sense of humor and good-natured, friendly countenance will long be remembered by old friends and new acquaintances alike. He was married for 44 years to his wife, Irma Lee Swift Haskins, who preceded him in death by a mere 11 days. He was a member of Wrigley Church of God.
Survivors include three daughters, Rose, Barbara Jean, and Sue; a brother, Grady Haskins, Bon Aqua; a sister, Annie Mae Haskins, Lyles; several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
