Funeral services for Paul Elmer Brady, age 82 of Bon Aqua, will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2018 from the First Baptist Church of Fairview with Associate Pastor Drew Mangrum and Dr. Bill Sherman officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, also at the church. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Brady Cemetery, Brady Cemetery Rd., Santa Fe, TN. Mr. Brady died Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at his home. For those desiring, memorials may be made to Americanbible.org or to Asoldierschild.org. Services are under the direction of Taylor Funeral Home.

Born in Santa Fe (Maury Co.), Tennessee, Paul was the son of the late George E. and Rena Mae Cozart Brady. He retired from the United States Marine Corps after 20 years of service. Paul received three Purple Hearts; Good Conduct Medal (6 th Award); Navy Unit Commendation w/1 star; National Defense Service Medal w/1 star; Vietnam Service Medal w/6 stars; Vietnam Campaign Medal w/1960 device; Meritorious Mast; Combat Action Ribbon; Navy Achievement Medal w/ Combat “V”; Presidential Unit Citation w/1 star; RVN Cross of Gallantry w/palm.

After his illustrious military career, he served as Sergeant with the City of Fairview Police Department; and later as Sergeant with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department where he also served as a Firearms Instructor and Armorer. He was a member of the Fairview Post of the American Legion; a licensed dealer of firearms; and a member of Fairview’s First Baptist Church. And he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Jeri L. Teachout Brady, Bon Aqua; his children, Paul Markham Brady (Carrie), Mulvane, KS, Laura DiStefano (Max), Nashville, Cris Smith (Mark), Bon Aqua, and twin sons, Paul S. Brady (Taya), Dickson, and Michael G. Brady (Emily), Fairview; his brother, James Robert Brady (Reta), Erin, TN; his sister, Brenda Brady Brown, Santa Fe, TN; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
