Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon, November 5, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Pastor Tony Hill will officiate. Place of rest will be in the Hudgins Cemetery in Fairview, TN. Military honors will be observed following services in the chapel on Monday. Visitation will be Sunday, November 4th from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
Mr. Martin, age 85, of Lyles, TN died peacefully at the Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville on November 1, 2018.
Mr. Martin was born in Williamson County. He was the son of the late James Ellis and Jerusa May Gordon Martin. He was preceded in death by his sisters Effie Mae, Earlene, and Cora Marie and his niece, Vickie Powell. He loved ginseng hunting and the outdoors. He enjoyed walking in the woods and exploring all that nature had to offer. Mr. Martin loved all animals and even had a pet squirrel. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army.
Survivors include his daughter Angela Martin of Lyles, TN, several nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and nephews.
