A visitation for Eric Plotzer will be on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Taylor Funeral Home between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Following visitation you are invited to join his family at their home to scatter his ashes at 5:00 p.m.

Eric Plotzer, age 58 of Lyles, TN died peacefully on July 10, 2020 surrounded by his family at Vanderbilt Medical Center. He was born January 26 th , 1962 to the late Gerald and Mary Plotzer in Southfield, MI.

Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Donna Weatherspoon Plotzer of Lyles, TN; children Johnathan (Kristie) Plotzer of Centerville, Stephanie Plotzer of Dickson, grandchildren Isaac (Kara) Wutzke, Ethan Wutzke , Aaron Wutzke , & Alice Plotzer, and great granddaughter Isabelle Wutzke; brothers, Paul (Linda) Plotzer of Clarksville,TN, Karl Plotzer of Ellwood City, PA.

The family requests that IN LIEU OF FLOWERS please bring dog food, cat food, cat litter, or toys for the four – legged companions or a monetary donation to the Taylor Funeral Home either before the visitation or during. Taylor Funeral Home will deliver these items to the Hickman County Humane Society in honor of Eric following the visitation.

Eric had a love for animals and he loved to use his skills and passion for animals by helping out at the Hickman County Humane Society.

Eric had a servants heart he loved to help out in the community assisting elderly or the disabled he would assist them with using his skills, rides to get haircuts, trips to the grocery store, or monetarily if they needed it.

Eric enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling. He was a hard-working man and worked a number of years at the Texsid Aluminum Foundry in Dickson. When the plant was forced to downsize he went back to school to earn his certification in Industrial Maintenance. Eric worked for Winterwood assigned to Harvest Edge Apartments as their devoted “Maintenance Man.” He loved making sure things operated and ran as smoothly as possible for the residents so they could call their apartment home. Eric always worked hard to provide for his family and grandchildren.
