Tony Arnold Tidwell, age 86, passed away February 24, 2022, at Centennial Medical Center, surrounded by loved ones. Tony was born February 3, 1936 to the late Hadden Tidwell and Edyth Flowers Tidwell in Hickman County. There were 11 Tidwell children; 7 boys and 4 girls. Tony loved his brothers and sisters and all of his family dearly. In 1954, Tony met the love of his life, Dorothy Sue “Dot” Seagraves and enjoyed 68 years of marriage. He worked at A.O. Smith, in Ashland City, TN, as a welder for over 42 years. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
He was known quite vividly for his love of beagles and fox hounds and the hunting trips he would take them on. Above all, Tony was a man of his word. If you were ever invited to the dog pen for a butt whoopin, you got it and you wouldn’t forget it. One of his favorite activities was attending the Annual 4 th of July, Tidwell Family Picnic.
In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his daughters; Wanda Thomason, Sheila Tidwell, Lisa Shepard, Tina Nolen, Brothers; Wilson Tidwell, Curtis Tidwell, Lawrence Tidwell, James Tidwell, Bill Tidwell, Wayne Tidwell, Sisters; Bertha Tidwell, Frona Fowlkes, and Jane Stringfield.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years; Dot Seagraves Tidwell, Son; Don A. “Bubba” Tidwell (Mona) of Bon Aqua, TN, Daughter; B. Darlene Blade (James) of Fairview, TN, Sister; Florence Hulan (Kenny) of Bon Aqua, TN, 11 Grandchildren, 26 Great-Grandchildren, 4 Great-great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 28, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. James Parham, Dr. Jerry Tidwell, and Tommy Marvin officiating. Place of rest will be in the Parker Fowlkes Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, February 27th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Monday, February 28th from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
