Darline Lillian Horton, age 89 of Lyles, TN passed away Thursday October 6, 2022. Born in Louisville, KY she was the daughter of the late Richard Lee Horton, Sr. and Jerusha Ann Walker Horton and was preceded in death by her brother, Homer Vencil Horton. Darline worked as a Music Teacher and as Director of Music at the churches she has attended. Darline and her sisters formed the gospel group “The Horton Sisters”. She was a member of the Pine Hill Church of the Nazarene.
Funeral services will be Monday October 10, 2022 at 2 PM at the Pine Hill Church of the Nazarene in McEwen, TN. Place of rest will be in the Horton, Young, Rye Cemetery in McEwen, TN. Visitation with family will be Sunday October 9th from 4 to 8 PM at Taylor Funeral Home and Monday from 12 PM until time of service at the church.
Survivors include her sisters, Freeda Mae Young of McEwen, TN, Viola Geddings of Lyles, TN; brothers, Richard Lee Horton, Jr. of Camden, TN, William Henry Horton of North Carolina; 5 nieces and 13 nephews; several great nieces and nephews.
