Funeral services will be Friday June 2, 2023 at 3 PM from the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Mitch Stevens officiating. Place of rest will be in the Parker-Fowlkes Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Thursday June 1st from 4 to 8 PM and on Friday from 1 PM until time of service.
Charles O’Neal Massie, age 84 of Burns, TN passed away Tuesday May 30, 2023. Born in Dickson County he was the son of the late Georgie and Mildred Hayes Massie and was preceded in death by his siblings, Sara Keele, Bessie Evans, Jerry Wayne Massie, Andrew Massie and Jimmy Massie. He worked as a material handler for Tennsco and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Oak Ave, Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Joy A. Massie of Burns, TN; children, Robert Davis McCollom (Susan) of Burns, TN, Kenneth Wayne McCollom (Wilma) of Mississippi, Susie Adams (Keith) of Toney, AL, Richard O’Neal Massie (Sharon) of Dickson, TN, Anthony Wayne Massie of Burns, TN; sisters, Jeanette Kimbro of Burns, TN, Sue Potts of Houston Co., TN, Gladys Hayes of Palmyra, TN, Ann Mayo of Nashville, TN; 8 grandchildren, Randall Reed, Matt Adams, Amanda Bennett, Cassie Peters, Robbie Peters, Andrew Massie, Jaiden Massie and Sofia Massie; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
