Funeral services for Thomas Louis “Tom” Miller, age 88 of Cumberland Furnace will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2023, from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Duke officiating. Interment will follow in the Nosegay Cemetery in White Bluff. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday from 4 until 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 11 a.m. until service time. Born in Posen, Illinois, Mr. Miller was the son of the late Andrew and Angeline Dzuiba Miller. He worked in the sewer line construction industry. He attended the Presbyterian church. Mr. Miller was a man of God and lived his faith in his daily walk. One of his interests included being a hockey player (in his younger days!). He was an avid storyteller and could remember many details of his life experiences that he shared with his children and grandchildren. An avid outdoorsman, Tom loved his time spent in God’s creation and enjoyed watching and feeding many species of wildlife. He was a tinkerer and enjoyed trying to fix things. He was always a hard worker, even until the end of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Johnson Miller of Cumberland Furnace; five children, Sue Epley (Bill) of Lockport, IL, Mark Miller (Karen) of New Lenox, IL, Katie Harrison of Ashland City, TN, Shari Marolda (Paul) of Lockport, IL, and Mike Miller of Dickson, TN; a sister, Helen Wielgorecki of Arizona; 32 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded by three children, Christine Walsh, Sandy Redell, and T. J. “Thomas” Miller, and by four siblings, Leo, Andy, Anna, and Louise.
