Evelyn Smith Womble, age 84 of Dickson, TN died on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 5, 2024 at the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Edgar Beard officiating. Interment will follow in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. For those desiring, memorials may by made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Mrs. Womble was born September 1, 1939 in Dickson County. She was a daughter of the late William L. “Smitty” Smith and Willie Gentry Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James Donald Womble, Sr. (2017). Evelyn was also preceded in death by a son, Marion L. “Marty” Womble (2017). She was a member of the Pond Church of Christ.
Mrs. Womble is survived by 2 sons, James D. “Donnie” Womble, Jr. and his wife, Lee, and Robert “Keith” Womble and his wife, Dawn; her sister, Betty Collier; 7 grandchildren, James Womble, Steven Womble, Bobby Womble, Billy Womble, Leslie Goodwin, Victoria Womble, and Kelly Brewster; and 18 great grandchildren.
