Bruce (also known as Brucie) was born October 14, 1962, and grew up in White Bluff, Tennessee. He was the son of William Bernice Potts and Rosie Lowe Potts. He was a 1980 graduate of Dickson County High School. He worked at Spann Brothers Lumber Company (who became his second family) from his early years in high school until 2019. Bruce had a genuine big heart and a passion for helping and supporting others. He was very involved and dedicated to the Creek Wood Athletic Booster Club and his french fry cook for WJMS. He even took his french fry cook to campus at TTU when his son asked him to pull that off and of course another hit. His caramel/kettle popcorn became another joy of his and he loved cooking and giving it away and it always brought smiles and enjoyment, especially at Christmas! He loved Friday night lights football at Creek Wood High School where he made sure we tailgated every Friday night and loved being part of the sideline chain gang. He taught middle school bible class at Chapel Hill Church of Christ and the kids loved him as he was a big kid himself. He had a natural knack for working on anything and such a wealth of knowledge. He could do anything he set out to do, like running a 5K and coming in 1st place in his group while he had not even been running on any daily bases. His other hobbies were fishing, hunting, raising cattle, but most importantly spending time with his family and friends. He lived life BIG, just ask any of the friends and family and they all have Bruce stories to share. He loved him some Dr Pepper, Chips Ahoy Chocolate Chip Cookes, peach ice cream and Dove chocolate. He will be missed by so many!

Bruce is survived by his wife of 38 years Janet Potts, his son Ty Potts and his wife Kelsey, his grandson Leo, his parents Bernice and Rosie Potts, sister Lora Pack and her husband Kevin, sister Lana Miller and her husband Philip, brother-in-law Greg Hawkins, many nieces and nephews, and many close friends.

Preceded in death by sister Hollie Hawkins.
