Mother Mary D. Corlew was born on May 24, 1947 and finished her race on September 3, 2024. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at the Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Ramey officiating, and Pastor Cecilia Grimsley giving the eulogy. Her parents: Birdie Brown Nunley and Allen Nunley preceded her in death. Her brothers: Billy Gene Brown and Allen Nunley; Sisters: Alline Nunley, Willie B. House, Della Gordon, Carolyn Hogan, Betty Hughes, Veronica Grigsby, Dorothy Grimes and Mary Lou Marsh also preceded her in death.

At an early age Mother Mary D. Corlew accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at the Original Church of God under the leadership of the late Pastor James E. Satterfield II. She has faithfully served the Lord for over 57 years. A Faithful & True Soldier of Jesus Christ.

Mother Mary D. Corlew along with her husband were charter members of Word of Life Tabernacle Church birthed January 8, 1997 under the leadership of her niece; Apostle Cecilia Grimsley. She was a faithful and loyal servant of God serving in many areas of ministry. Mother Mary D. Corlew was a worshipper and loved to sing. She was a member of the Judah Praise Team and Church Choir. She was a student of the Word of God and excellent Sunday School and Bible Study Teacher. She was also the President of Hospitality and Finance Committee. Her most precious honor was being inducted as the first Mother of Zion at Word of Life Tabernacle. Her godly character and example was a great asset to us all. She will be truly missed.

Mother Mary D. Corlew loved to cook. Voted unanimously by her family, as one of the best cooks in Dickson County. She was employed and cooked for years at East Hills Restaurant until it closed. She cooked also for the Renaissance Center, High Point, and Sister’s Restaurant.

Mother Mary D. Corlew was married to her husband, Robert L. Corlew for sixty years! To this union was born two daughters and two sons. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren. Her heart’s desire and prayer daily was for her entire family to be saved.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Robert L. Corlew, husband; daughters: Stephanie (Daron) Evans; Anita (Deadrick) Grimes; Sons: Keith (Melissa) Corlew; Gary (Debbie) Corlew. She has 13 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. Sisters: Annette Yarbrough and Myrtle Pollard; Brother –in-law: Wilbert Hogan. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She left her footprints on the hearts of many whose names are not mentioned on this program but are recorded in Heaven.
