Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, October 12, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Bro. Steve Baggett will officiate. The visitation will be on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Place of rest will be in the Baker Sullivan Cemetery. Those desiring memorials are suggested to the Dickson County Humane Society or to the Dickson County Public Library.
Della Dotson Sullivan passed away suddenly on October 8, 2024, at age 87 at Tri-Star Horizon Medical Center. Mrs. Sullivan was born March 15, 1937, in the Humphreys County, TN community of White Oak. She graduated from McEwen High School in 1955. Della was a retiree of Southern Bell/South Central Bell after 35 years of loyal service. After retiring from the phone company, she became an education aide at James E. Sullivan Elementary School and Centennial Elementary School for 25 years.
Della was married to Jerry Sullivan of Dickson for 33 years until his passing in 2000. Their son, Ray Sullivan of Dickson, was born in 1977. Mrs. Sullivan loved her family very much and had immense loyalty to her friends. She had a love of animals and made sure pots of flowers and flower beds were in bloom each spring & summer.
Mrs. Sullivan was preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Daisy Dotson of McEwen, brother John Ed Dotson of McEwen, sister Lois Knight of Nashville, and husband Jerry Sullivan of Dickson.
She is survived by her son Ray Sullivan of Dickson, brother Ned Dotson of McEwen, nieces Alicia Chambers of Nashville and Judy Cantlon of Dickson, nephew Scott Knight of Fairview, along with several great nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
