James Darrel (Unk) Thomasson, age 67 of Lyles, TN died on December 24, 2024. The family will gather at a later date to remember and memorialize Mr. Thomasson’s life.
James was born on October 16, 1957, in Pontiac, Michigan. He was a son of the late James Eugene and Amer Desiree Estes Thomasson. James was a skilled and proven carpenter and concrete finisher. A hard worker, he staunchly believed you didn’t leave a job when it was “good enough”, you made sure it’s “done right”. James enjoyed simple things in life like riding the backroads, traveling with his family. His greatest love was his family, which included many non-relatives. He practiced kindness and was always willing to share with those who would otherwise be overlooked.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Kay Thomasson Smith; sister-in-law, Fay Hazel Thomasson; his brother-in-law George Bryan; and his mother-in-law Sarah (Hewitt) Haley.
Mr. Thomasson is survived by his wife of 40 years, Roseanna Christine Haley Thomasson; her father, Richard Haley; his children, Danielle Elizabeth Thomasson, James Dustin Thomasson (Katherine Diane), Ayron Richard Thomasson (Deonna Paige ), and Brandon Lee Thomasson (Krysten Michelle); his siblings, Brenda Fay Thomasson Bryan, David Eugene Thomasson, Donna Sue Thomasson Wallace (Mark); in-laws Sarah Haley Swanson (Andy) and Rich Haley; his grandchildren, Clowie Abigail, Chloe Paige, Kimberley Brooke, Timothy Michael Wayne, Brayden Chance, Claire Elizabeth, James Maxwell, Madison Rose and one on the way due in May 2025; also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
