Funeral services will be Friday May 30, 2025 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Tommy Marvin officiating. Place of rest will be in the Marvin Addition of Union Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Thursday May 29th from 4 to 8 PM and on Friday from 12 PM until time of service. Those desiring memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
James Allen Thompson, Sr.; age 77 of Dickson, TN passed away Saturday May 24, 2025. Born in Dickson County he was the son of the late Roy and Lucille Pate Thompson and was preceded in death by his son, James Allen Thompson, Jr. and his brother, Lawrence Thompson. James worked as a Truck driver and was a member of the Teamsters local 327 truckers’ union and was a member of the Dickson Moose Lodge for over 30 years. He was member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his son, Brian Lewis Thompson (Angie) of Dickson, TN; sisters, Shirley Dover of Dickson, TN, Debra Horsley (Mark) of Dickson, TN; 2 grandchildren, Sturgis Thompson, Libby Thompson; 2 great grandchildren, Abbie Whittington, Hunter Whittington; nieces and nephews, Peggy Thompson, Mike Thompson, Eric Thompson (Tammy), Natashia Blanks (Jeremy), Nathanael Thompson, Lucinda Bishop (Derek); great nieces and nephews, Dalton Duke, Will Duke, Grayce Thompson-Blanks, Rylee Thompson, Brady Thompson, John Lawrence Thompson, Harli Blanks.
