Mrs. Betty Lee Mathis McCollom, age 84 of Gallatin, TN formerly of Dickson County, died on Monday, May 3, 2021.
Betty was born in Dickson, TN on June 2, 1936, a daughter of Pat Irvin Mathis and Verbie Katherine Finch Mathis. Being that Betty’s husband Graham was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, and retired from BellSouth, the McCollom’s early years were spent being mobile and living where stationed or work demanded. The couple was able to settle down and spend their last 40 years in Gallatin, TN. Betty was retired from the Sumner Regional Hospital where she had worked as an Emergency Room nurse and later in the business office.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Graham Neil McCollom; her brothers, Ray Mathis and James Mathis.
She is survived by her son, Greg N. McCollom of Gallatin, TN; daughter, Lisa L. Moore of Nashville, TN; her sister, Fay Stacey of Dickson, TN; four grandchildren, Chelsea Marie McCollom, Phillip Dylan Moore, Jacob McCollom (Shelby Laney), Chlesea Houge; one great grandchild, Dahlia Cobb.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Brigance officiating. Place of rest will be in the Plainview Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
