Mrs. Betty Whitaker Gillette, age 79 of Dickson, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013. Visitation will be Friday, August 2, 2013 from 4 until 8 P.M. at Taylor Funeral Home and on Saturday from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. at Sylvia Baptist Church. Funeral services for Betty Whitaker Gillette will be Saturday August 3, 2013 at 1 P.M. from the Sylvia Baptist Church with Rev. Clark Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Sylvia. Donations may be made to the Sylvia Baptist Church Building Fund.
Betty was a retired tool maker for the V.R. Wesson Tool Company . A native of Manila, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Marion William and Nannie May Hall Whitaker. She was a member of the Sylvia Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Wayne Gillette of Dickson, TN; four daughters, Teresa Fetterman and husband Carl of Dickson, TN; Billie Brown and husband Glenn of Ashland City, TN; Lynn Garcia and husband Dan of Bristol, WI; Pamela Gaile Thornsen and husband Stanley of Kenosha, WI; one brother, Dalton Whitaker of Alexander, IN; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
