Bryan Dean Petty, age 56 of McEwen, TN, died on Monday, October 27, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at the Wildwood Valley Church of Christ, 8365 Hwy 13, Hurricane Mills, TN 37078. Bro. Jeremy McFarlin will officiate. The visitation is scheduled for Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service. For those desiring, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or to the American Diabetes Association.
Bryan was born March 14, 1969 in Dickson, TN. First and foremost, he was a good Christian man, a Godly man, a Christlike servant. He attended services at the Wildwood Valley Church of Christ. Bryan was the most loving husband, for nearly 36 years. He was a loving son, father and grandfather. Bryan made a daily choice to be full of joy, always happy, and have a positive mindset. He was well liked, patient and kind. Bryan possessed a quick and inventive humor, he enjoyed picking at people and always had a comeback.
At an early age, Bryan developed the skill to diagnose, repair and maintain just about anything. His first job was in Dickson working as a Fireman. He became Fire Marshall for Dickson and later for the State of Tennessee. He was multi-talented because he chose to never stop learning. And when he learned how to do something new, he went all in to have the right tools and equipment. For many years he served as a maintenance director, and he most recently worked as an electrician.
Bryan is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Annette Wright Petty; his parents, Harold and Peggy Reynolds Petty; his sons, Taylor Petty (Tabitha) and Tylor Petty (Abigail); his brother, Eric Petty (Sandra); grandchildren, Tristian, Kenlee, Paityn, and Harrison; nephews, Stephen and Brice (Madison). Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended relatives and friends.

Harold Dean and Peggy, I am so sorry for the loss of your son Brian. Although I didn’t know him, he attended church at Wildwood Valley Church of Christ with our dear friends Ducky and Reba Duckworth. Harold Dean you were always like another one of my nephews when you were growing up and visiting your cousins in Waverly. My sister Louise loved you and your family, and the only one left now is Susan. I miss them all. All my family is gone too. I can’t be there for Brian’s service, but please know that I will be there with you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Love y’all, and God bless you and your family in the day’s ahead.
