A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Charlotte, TN. Visitation with the family will also take place on Wednesday from 10:00 am until 12 noon at the Taylor Funeral Home.
Mr. Buford Allen Batey, age 84 of Nashville passed away on January 8, 2021 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. He was born in Dickson County on June 12, 1936 to the late John Herman and Lorena Sensing Batey. Mr. Batey was a member of the Bellevue Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helen Batey; his son: David Batey; and his siblings: Lillie Mae Sherrer, Ruby Wall, James Batey, Gladys Rinaldo, Raymond Batey, Elmer Batey, George Batey, and William Albert Batey.
Survivors include his sister, Nancy McGill of White Bluff; his son: Keith Batey of Nashville; one granddaughter and two great granddaughters; and his best friend, William “Bill” Hampton.
