Carol Ann Clark Petty, a devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother, cherished sister, and beloved retired teacher, graduated to glory on January 21, 2025, at the age of 79.

Born on April 26, 1945, in Nashville, Carol was a devoted wife to her husband of 56 years, Ken Petty, who will forever cherish the life they built together. She was a loving and supportive mother and grandmother to her four children and 13 grandchildren, Kendria (Bryce) Northcutt (Malcolm and Miles), Kimberly (Mitch) Edgeworth (Ashton/Austin, Katie Ann, Campbell and Caroline), Karen Robichaud (Jackson, Benjamin and Claire) and Brian Petty (Ty, Ansley, Wyatt and Brinley), instilling in them the values of kindness, generosity, and the importance of family. Her home was a sanctuary of love, laughter, and cherished memories, including gatherings filled with joy and celebration.

Carol is also survived by her dear siblings, David (Marilyn) Clark, Larry Clark, Linda (Gary) Petty, and Julie (Wade) Thompson who will always remember her as a source of love and support. Carol delighted in her Kingston Springs community and the lovely wildlife that enriches Cheatham County.

After earning multiple degrees in education, Carol embarked on a fulfilling career as a teacher, inspiring and nurturing generations of students over her 32 year tenure. Known for joy of dissection, compassion, and dry wit, Mrs. Petty made a lasting impact on countless young minds, fostering a love of science and community service that many carried into their adult lives.

In addition to her family, Carol was an active member at Bellevue Church of Christ. Her faith was a guiding light in her life. Carol’s generosity enhanced the lives of many.

Carol’s Graduation to Glory Celebration will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 11:00 at Bellevue Church of Christ. Her visitation will also take place at Bellevue Church of Christ Friday, January 24, from 3:00-7:00, and again Saturday morning from 10:00-11:00.
