A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 3:00 PM at the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Bear officiating. Place of rest will be in the Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Mr. Charles Ray Petty, age 78 of Dickson, TN died on April 26, 2022.
Mr. Petty was born August 31, 1943 in Dickson County, Tennessee. He was a son of the late John Daniel Petty and Frances Virginia Larkins Petty. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army. He was retired from the railroad, having worked as a carman for L&N and CSX for over 30 years. He enjoyed being outside and working in his yard. He loved riding motorcycles and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Peggy Sue Cathey Petty; his sons-in-law, Terry Luther and Lance Hunter.
Mr. Petty is survived by his daughters, Dawna Luther, Lori Giordano (Bob); his sons, Gregg Petty and Anthony Petty; 9 grandchildren, Misty, Jeremy, Benjamin, Connelly, Wade, Gino, Jade, Gregg, Marissa; 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
