Funeral services for David Scott Dowdy, age 43 of Dickson will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Kenny Brown officiating. He will be buried on his family’s plot in Waynick Cemetery near Slayden. David died suddenly May 5, 2018. Born in Houston County, Tennessee on June 24, 1974, David was the son of Marian Heggie (Wheat) and the late Herman W. “Bud” Dowdy. He was a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry. David attended Sylvia Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Marian “Mary” Wheat, Dickson; one daughter, Madeline Marie “Maddy” Dowdy, Cumberland Furnace; three brothers, Jim Dowdy, Dover, Samuel W. Dowdy, Erin, and Jason Davidson, Dickson.
