Mr. Donald E. Ivey, age 70 of Shawnee, Oklahoma, died on his birthday, Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the V. A. Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. Funeral services for Mr. Donald E. Ivey were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 12, 2015 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home, with his son, Jeff Ivey officiating. Interment with Military Honors followed in the Adcock Cemetery.
Born in Nashville, Donald was the son of Kathryn Estes Ivey Mercer and the late James Ivey. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and was a retired from Civil Service in Aircraft Maintenance. He was also a member of Tecumseh Masonic Lodge #69, AF&AM in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
Survivors include his mother, Kathryn Estes Mercer, Winter Haven, Florida; his son, Jeff Ivey, Greenwood, AR; his daughter, Rhonda Yazell, South Dakota; four grandchildren, Daylon Yazell, Alexis Yazell, Abbey Ivey, and Jonathan Ivey; brothers, James Ivey, Avon Park, Florida, Roland Ivey, Georgia, and Wesley Mercer, Bowling Green, Florida; sisters, Sandra Hicks, Nashville, and Elaine Regan, Avon Park, Florida; several nieces and nephews.
