Donald Leroy Brooks, age 88, of Dickson, TN, passed away on November 18, 2022, surrounded by his family.
He was born May 19, 1934, in Knoxville, TN to the late William Clyde Brooks and Beatrice Shelton Brooks. He retired from the United States Air Force with over 20 years of service as a Flight Engineer. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam War. In 1989, he married Georgia Lamastus and enjoyed 33 wonderful years of marriage. He loved to work with wood, making furniture for the family. He also loved his “Sassy”, his precious little kitty.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters; Evelin Starkey, Dorothy Lee Hawkins, and Delores Lawson.
Survivors include his wife; Georgia Brooks of Dickson, TN, and his daughter; Sandra Goff (Patrick) of Dickson, TN.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 21, 2022 from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Place of rest will be in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
