His family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday. His service will begin at 12 noon Saturday, December 12, 2015 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. James Carrington officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Charlotte.
Donnie Odell Hunter, Sr. passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at the Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville. Born in Dickson, Donnie was the son of the late Elzie and Syble Johnson Hunter. Donnie worked in the construction business as a mason and iron worker. He was predeceased by his siblings, Fulton Hunter, Frankie Hunter, Imogene Hunter, Elton Hunter, Jimmy Hunter, and Jerry Hunter.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Lee Hunter, Cumberland Furnace; three sons, Donnie Hunter, Jr., and Dusty Hunter (Chrystal), White Bluff, and Yancie Hunter, Louisville, KY; one daughter, Valerie Hunter, Louisville, KY; two brothers, Arvin Hunter (Shirley) and Tony Hunter (Cheryl), Dickson; two sisters, Judy Stringer, Burns, and Emily Hunter Delaney (Jesse), Dyersburg; four grandchildren, Braxton Hunter, Dalton Hunter, Andre Hunter , and Yancie Hunter, Jr.; several nieces and nephews.
