Funeral services will be held at on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Duke officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, January 5 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Sunday January 6 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m., Monday, January 7 from 12 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. and Monday following the funeral service from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Interment will be held on Tuesday, January 8, at 9:00 a.m. at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
Doris Mays, age 80, of Holiday, Florida passed away on January 2 at Trinity Medical Center. She was born on July 20, 1938 to the late James and Rosie Gafford Ezell. Mrs. Mays lived in Kingston Springs for most her life. She loved to sew and embroider things and loved to read her Bible and other books as well. She also enjoyed listening to older country music.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert L. Mays; her sisters, Charlene Rodgers and Irene Beavens; and her brother, Frank Ezell.
Survivors include her daughters, Charlotte Fowler of Dickson, Pam Allen and husband Jim of Holiday, Florida, and Shawanda Shoulders and husband Jeff of Dickson; her grandchildren, Doris Lei Rollins, Lisa Felts, Joshua Peters, Cara Stacey, Justin Welker, Cody Allen, Samantha Grimes and Brandon Mays; 12 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
