A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Clifton officiating. Place of rest will be in the Missionary Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Dorothy Lorene Lampley Black, age 82 of Bon Aqua, TN died on November 10, 2018. For those desiring, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Dickson County or the animal rescue charity of choice.
Lorene was born on March 3, 1936 in Dickson County, TN. She was a daughter of the late George Lampley, Sr. and Era Ethel Tidwell Lampley. For many years she worked in bake shop/dietary center of the Baptist Hospital in Nashville, TN. Before a decline in her health she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bon Aqua, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Huston Black, Sr.; 2 sons, Loyd Huston Black, Jr., and Terry Young Black; 5 brothers, and 2 sisters.
She is survived by her son, Timothy “Tim” Black, Sr.; 2 grandsons, Timothy “TJ” Black, Jr., and Zachary Alexander Black; 2 great granddaughters, Wednesdei Mai Black and Charlotte Lucinda Black, her brother, George Lampley, Jr.; her sister, Lona Rumble; several nieces and nephews.
