Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. from the Tennessee Veterans Cemetery with military honors. His son, Matthew will officiate. There will be no public visitation prior to services. Those desiring, memorials are suggested to the Shriner’s Hospital or to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Dr. Warner Jackson “Jack” Caldwell, age 87, of Dickson, TN died June 10, 2021 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville after a short stay.

He was born in White Bluff, Tennessee, son of the late Warner Jerome and Cleo Smith Caldwell. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, retiring with 22 years and 19 days of service with the rank of Master Sergeant. He then earned a Bachelor’s Degree at Austin Peay State University followed by a Masters Degree and his PhD at Clemson University. Dr. Caldwell worked with the Food and Drug Administration for some 15 years. Upon his retirement from the Food and Drug Administration he returned to Austin Peay as professor teaching Animal Science. He taught up to his early eighties.

He was active in his community. He was a member of the White Bluff United Methodist Church, member of the White Bluff Masonic Lodge #6765, White Bluff Chapter #446 Order of the Eastern Star, Iron-Vanleer Chapter #233 Order of the Easter Star, Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity and the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years; Mary Ann Eppes Caldwell, his three sons; Michael Caldwell, Mark Caldwell and Matthew Caldwell and his wife Barbara, and his sister; Bettye Jean Caldwell Hall, his brothers; Carl Caldwell and Kenneth Caldwell. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna Tetrault and Greta Jane Hall
