A Homegoing Celebration will take place on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 12 noon in the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony Ward, officiating and Elder Coveak Moody, eulogist. Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the East Dickson Cemetery.

Ms. Eula Mai Holt Moody, age 88 of Burns, TN, passed from this life on January 17, 2024, at The Meadows in Nashville.

Daughter of (the late) Dave and Addie Holt, proceeded in death by her husband Gary Moody, and her sisters Annie Lee Bibbins and Velma Jean Holt.

Serving God positioned her in connection with several Churches. Baptized at an early age at Worley Furnace Baptist Church, upon moving to Nashville attended Swift Tabernacle Baptist Church. Coached and led the 1st girls’ basketball team at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School to a championship in three years. These last 6 years has remained connected to Worley Furnace, Baptist Church as well as St. James Baptist Church Family and Watson Grove Baptist Church Family.

She retired from the State of Tennessee Health and Lab Department after 37 years. Returned to Dickson and worked for the Bank of Dickson, became a bondman, and continued to sell Avon, Tupperware, and jewelry that she crafted. Then she decided to become a foster parent to several young ladies.

Her main interests were family, friends, cooking, playing card games, fishing. Most important to her was helping others.

To forever cherish her memory son; Coveak Moody (Tonya), Nieces Dorthy Mayes (Willie), Denise Knowles (Demetrius) Angie Bullock (Cedric). Nephews Teddy Edmondson (Tynisha), David Edmondson

Grandchildren

Brandi Hobson (Tyrone), Jasmine Paye (Trokon), Danielle West, Kyoko Wade, Kyoshoa Wade, Charles West, Umar West, Treasure West, Deann West.

Great Grandchildren

Jeremiah Paye, Jordyn Paye, Tori Hobson, Noel Hobson, and Ka’mari Meza.

A host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
