Fred Edward Sanker, age 85 of Dickson, died Friday, May 20, 2016 at his home. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 until 8 p.m. and Monday from 1 p.m. until time of service. The service will be at 3 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2016 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Adcock Cemetery.
Born in Dickson County, Fred was the son of the late William F. “Willie” and Myrtle Bissinger Sanker. He worked all his life as a farmer and logger in and around Dickson County. His wife, Sarah Frances Lilly Sanker preceded him in death in 2003. He was also predeceased by a son, Jimmy Sanker and by his sister, Edna Taylor.
Survivors include his children, Brenda Rockey (Billy), Betty Sue “Shorty” Spann, and Gary Sanker (Debbie), all of Dickson; eleven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
