A funeral service for Hazel Virginia Beard Ferrell, age 81, of Little Barton’s Creek Road in Dickson County, was held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2012 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. David Mackens officiating. Interment followed in the Marion Methodist Church Cemetery in Montgomery County. Mrs. Ferrell died Friday, November 16, 2012 at her home. A native of Dickson County, Hazel was the daughter of the late Ovie Leslie and Eliza Baggett Beard. She retired as a Nurse’s Aide for the former Green Valley Nursing Home. Working in her home as a homemaker, she was always doing things to help her family and her many friends. She was a member of Slayden Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Dossie B. Ferrell, of Little Barton’s Creek; her sons, David Ferrell and his wife Sharon, Cumberland Furnace, and Mike Ferrell, Little Barton’s Creek; her daughters, Barbara Ellis and her husband James, Cumberland Furnace, and Jennifer Breeden, Dickson; brother, Donnie Wilkerson and his wife Pat, Newell, AL; sister, Dorothy Baggett and her husband, Lloyd, Dickson; ten grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many special friends.
