Herbert Lee Mays, age 83 of Kingston Springs, died March 29, 2012. A funeral service for Mr. Mays was held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 11am at the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Reese Cochran officiating. Burial followed at 1pm at the Middle TN Veterans Cemetery. Mr. Mays was born April 21, 1928 in Petersburg, TN. He was a Son of the late William Jennings Mays and the late Lillian Anderson Mays. He served his Country in the United States Air Force. He earned the nickname ‘Bull’ during his career of over 30 years at the Ford Glass Plant. Herbert was a member of the White Bluff First Baptist Church.
He was a beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather; a jokester and an avid fisherman. He is survived by his Wife of 44 years, Doris Ezell Mays of Kingston Springs; 5 Daughters, Charlotte Fowler of McEwen, Janie (Bob) Atnip of Antioch, Carol (Wayne) Gatten of Burns, Pam (Jim) Allen of Clearwater, Florida, and Shwanda (Jeff) Shoulders of Burns; Brother, Harold (Eunice) Mays of Murfreesboro; 9 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild; Several Nieces and Nephews.
