James Almond Buchanan, age 92 of Hendersonville, passed from this life at his home in Hendersonville on Thursday, March 11, 2021. At his request, he will be cremated and there will be no public visitation or service. His cremains will be buried privately by the family on the family plot of Simpson Cemetery in Humphreys County.
Born in Humphreys County, James was the son of the late Herman O. and Rachel Lucille Hicks Buchanan. He retired from DuPont, having worked as a pipefitter and welder. He was married to Grace Guthrie Buchanan, who preceded him in death. James was a member of the Madison Church of Christ.
Survivors include his son, James Michael Buchanan (Joyce E.), Nashville; his daughter, Judy Lynne Frey, Hendersonville; a sister, Ione Heath, Brentwood, TN; grandchildren, Chuck Buchanan, Beth Buchanan, Shane Buchanan, and Samuel E. “Dusty” Buchanan; and 3 great-grandchildren.
