Funeral services for James Dean ‘Jimmy’ Porter, age 54 of Ashland City, were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home. Interment in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. He died January 8, 2013. Jimmy was born in San Francisco, California and, prior to his illness, was a construction worker. For those desiring, memorials may be made to his family or to the church or charity of your choice.
Survivors include his parents, Donald E. and Lillian Porter, Ashland City; three sons, Kenneth Porter, Nashville and Matthew Porter and Charlie Porter, both of Russellville, KY; one daughter, Jennifer Gonzales, Fullerton, CA; brother, Donald E. ‘Donnie’ Porter, Jr., White Bluff, TN; five sisters, Valerie Brunner, LaVergne, TN, Angela Armstrong, Clara Powers, and Celia Roman, all of Ashland City, and Michelle Roman, Charlotte, TN; three grandchildren, Brandon, Braylyn, and Dean; several nieces and nephews.
