Mr. James Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Ballard, age 71 of Dickson, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012. Funeral services for Mr. Ronnie Ballard were held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2012 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Boyd Nash and Sanders Peeler officiating. Interment followed in Dickson County Memorial Gardens. A native of Hickman County, Ronnie was the son of the late John Lawrence and Pearl Petty Ballard. A long-time employ of Preston Thompson’s Carpet Shoppe, he retired as manager after 32 years of service. He was a member of Oak Avenue Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Helen Donegan Ballard, Dickson; one son, Ronald Wayne ‘Ron’ Ballard, Atlanta, Georgia; one daughter, Amy Ballard Matney and her husband, Greg, Bon Aqua; a brother, John Carl Ballard, Nashville; a sister, Helen Harrison, Port Neches, TX; three grandchildren, Jamison, Wade, and Faryn Matney.
